Crossfit.


I began a Crossfit Essentials class on Tuesday, May 8th at Stoneway Crossfit. Essentials includes five classes. My coach, Scott, explained that with every class, we will learn 3-4 new moves.

Day one, we learned how to:
  • Squat
  • Deadlift
  • Overhead strict press
Day two, we learned:
  • Wall balls
  • Burpees
  • Kettlebell swings
Day three, we learned:
  • Rowing
  • Overhead push press
  • Box jumps
On day three, we also did our max overhead strict press.

Day four, we did Mini-Fran as our WOD (Fran is the hardest crossfit workout):
  • 15 - 12 - 9
    • Thrusters
    • Pull-ups
We also learned our max squat.

Day five - graduation day! We learned:

  • Knees 2 elbows
  • Jumping pull-ups

Our WOD was "Dirty 30". 30 of each for time.
  • Box jumps
    Jumping Pull-ups
    KB Swings
    Lunges
    Knees 2 Elbows
    Push Press
    Superman
    Wallball
    Burpees
    Single jump rope [90]
We also learned our max deadlift.

What I learned: I can already tell that I'm going to love crossfit. I also learned that I'm out of shape, and that I need to push myself more when I get uncomfortable. I can tell the community at Stoneway Crossfit is going to be awesome. I paid for an unlimited membership for the following month. I'm looking forward to going there!
